Gli antichi greci chiamavano Astypalaia « Tavola degli Dei» e come tale, non poteva che essere ricca e provocante ai sentimenti. Ricca e provocante continua ad essere tutt’ oggi. Ricca di memorie storiche, espressioni tradizionali, di bellezze naturali e dei sentimenti gentili dei suoi abitanti. Con il flusso dei secoli stampato su di sé, coperta di tradizioni e leggende per il suo castello multi cantato che incorona un’ isola pittoresca una delle più belle di mar Egeo, circondata da innumerevoli promontori e piccoli golfi, piena di 365 bellissime chiese e chiesette.
Astipalea per tutti, Astropalia per gli indigeni è un’ isola amata. Ponte che unisce le isole del Dodecaneso, un posto, dove qualcuno può trovare tutte le caratteristiche del Dodecaneso, ma anche quelle delle Cicladi.

Astypalaia è una destinazione ideale per un turismo alternativo come indicato geografia e clima caldo permettono ai visitatori di trarre pieno vantaggio di una grande varietà di scelte e attrattive turistiche. L'isola offre il proprio campo arrampicata impegnativo, una vasta rete di sentieri e di due caverne sotterranee che sono ben mappate e fotografate.
